75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - April 9, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - April 9, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Friday, April 9: [bold]

Up at 6:15. Left for Corning at 8:00. There at 11:00. None of large groups got Superior. Chorus did real well. With Marian T. to "Wakiki Wedding." Home about 11:15. [added later: Marion Thomas or Marian Teter]

Here is the long entry for Friday, April 9: [bold]

Up at 6:15. Left for Corning at 8:10. Got there a little before 11:00. None of the large groups got any thing at all. Disappointed about Chorus. They sang so well. With Marian Thomas to see "Wakiki Wedding." Really grand. Saw it thru' twice. Left as soon as Coon sang. Home about 11:45. Should have told Pete about going. Wonder what he'll think!

My comments: High School Large Group Music Contest in Corning. I remember them well from the 1950s! Great memories!

VERY interesting comment about Pete!  Relationship growing, it is obvious.  ;-)
