75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - April 24, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - April 24, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Saturday, April 24:

Sleepy. Listened to Drake Relays. Wind & snow. Blew privy over. Did dishes & cleaned up. Bussy & I to bed at 8:30.

Here is the long entry for Saturday, April 24:

Didn't feel much like getting up. Mr. Grove from Bayard here looking for old-fashioned suit. Wrote to Simpson College. Heard from & wrote to Bud. Listened to the relays. Wind, snow got worse all the time. Blew privy over. Did dishes & cleaned up. Buzz & I to bed at 8:30.

My comments: Drake Relays, late April, even in 1937 already!

"Wrote to Simpson College." Wonder if we'll hear any more about that!

"Blew privy over" still the top story of the day. I could not resist this photo I found - on a mountain, but is looks "so right!" Even the moon cut-out!!  ;-)
