75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - April 28, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - April 28, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Wednesday, April 28:

Typed library material. Took bath & went to town. Rode around in rain. Skating at 8:00. Bud & I left the rink early. To "school house." Took him to Bayard & came back alone.

Here is the long entry for Wednesday, April 28:

About the same as yesterday. Into work early. Typed library material most of the day. Talked to Mr. Browning in pm. Washed hair. Late to work after dinner. Cleaned the office good. Home alone at 5:00. Ate, took a bath & went to town. Rode around in the rain. Skating at 8:00. Bud & I left the rink quite early. To "our" school house. Grandest time ever. "I love you with all my heart." "For all we know we may never meet again." - - - - Took him to Bayard. Back alone. [Wrote a separate line, but totally scratched it out.]

My comments: Ever notice when she is 'naughty' at work (back to office late after dinner) - she cleans "real good." I seem to recall she did that all her life. Same thing out of the farm. Notice when she "cleans real good!"

Not sure about this Bud - sounds like quite a line, to me.

And, tomorrow, her Dad is upset about all her "driving around" …  ;-)
