75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - April 5, 1937
This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.
Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.
Here is the short entry for Monday, April 5:
Real cold out. Sore toe. Jennie fixed my hair free. Walked home. Part way with Edith P. Listened to Fibber & Molly. Soaked by feet & listened to "Farewell to Arms" on Lux. To bed early.
Here is the long entry for Monday, April 5:
Real cold out for April. Have a sore toe. Went to Lelak. Said to soak it. [last two sentences underlined, later] Dad & I home at Noon. I soaked my toe awhile. [sentence underlined, later] Typed a little bit in pm. Sun came out & it got real nice after dinner. Jennie fixed my hair for free. [sentence underlined, later] Walked home. Part way ride with Edith Parker. Did dishes, listened to Fibber & Molly. Soaked my feet awhile. [sentence underlined, later] I listened to Lux Theater. "Farewell to Arms." Clark Gable & Josephine Hutehssad. To bed at 9:30.
My comments: Too bad she had to walk even part way home with a sore toe.
The Lux Radio Theater presents Clark Gable in "A Farewell to Arms."
