75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - April 18, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - April 18, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Sunday, April 18: [bold]

Real grand day. Cleaned the house & then to church. We had a picnic dinner in the timber. All of us stiff from acrobat stunts. Pete came early. 4 of us to Carroll "May Time." Pete looked keen in his new suit.

Here is the long entry for Sunday, April 18: [bold]

Real grandest day. Up in good time. Cleaned south room & then got ready for church. Sat with Helen R. Had picnic dinner down in the timber. "Deviled cackleberries." Doing acrobats. All of us stiff. Fished, got several red horses. Took off blouse, got sunbath. Cleaned the up stairs & down a little & folk's bedroom. Pete came before 8:00. Leo & Ida went to Carroll with us. "May Time." Really good. Pete really looked keen in his new suit.

My comments: Maytime (1937 musical romance) starred Jeanette MacDonald, Nelson Eddy and John Barrymore.
