75 Years Ago Today - Eileen's Diary - Jan 29, 1939

75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
Jan 29, 1939

This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Now we are beginning 1939 - the year I was born, on July 1 - Bring it on! ;-)

Here is the daily entry for Sunday, Jan 29:

Up at 10:15. Pete up before 8:00. Mom brought out a beef roast. Dad had an awful cold and he slept all pm. I made ice cream for supper. Pete milked early, before we ate. Folks went home at 8:00. Pete & I took our baths and we ate our oranges and went to bed early.

My comment: Good time for a reminder of ages of characters in our story… real life, of course. ;-)

Paul - 46
Dorothy - 51
Buzzy - 10
Pete - 23
Eileen - 20

Roast beef, mashed potatoes, and beef gravy... Yum! ;-)

Families are Forever!  ;-)

  1. My father never met a roast he didn't like, particularly if it came with mashed potatoes and gravy! Sunday night, roast beef - a long tradition, eh?!
