75 Years Ago Today - Eileen's Diary - Jan 12, 1939

75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
Jan 12, 1939

This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Now we are beginning 1939 - the year I was born, on July 1 - Bring it on! ;-)

Here is the daily entry for Thursday, Jan 12:

Clarabelle called and got me out of bed at 8:00. She said they wanted us to come out Sunday nite. LVene came at 9:30. Had her hair set. She stayed 'til about 11:00. Got dinner, did a little bit of ironing. Got ready for club. Went up to LVene's & went with her & Mrs. Thomas. Over to Kate Brown's. LVene elected secy. & I pianist. Nice date cake for lunch. Home at 4:30. LVene here a minute. Ate & then milked. 9 eggs. Up to LVene & Verle's. Victor and Gertrude there. Played checkers. They left. Made pop corn. Looked at pictures. Home at 12:00.

My comments: A social engagement for Sunday nite! ;-)

Much interaction with sister-in-law LVene! They went to "club" together, both elected to offices, for the new year, it appears. Star Federated, or which one? We'll see…

I'd like to see the "pictures" they looked at, after Victor and Gertrude Ford left. ;-)

Date cake for 'lunch' - mid-afternoon snack, ...nice, for sure... ;-)

Families are Forever!  ;-)
