75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
Jan 31, 1939
This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Now we are beginning 1939 - the year I was born, on July 1 - Bring it on! ;-)
Here is the daily entry for Tuesday, Jan 31:
Up in pretty good time. Berthal brought the Hong Kong grass for the stools. The meeting is as Laura's. Ethel is sick. Waved my hair. Took cream in to town. Up home for dinner. Came home, cleaned up & went up home. LVene, Polly & Betty went with me to Laura's.
She showed us how to make the stools. Got them nearly finished. She served us a pop corn ball. Home at 5:30. Snowing & cold.
Chored, ate. Did dishes while Pete shaved & washed his hair. To bed early.
