75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - June 5, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - June 5, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Saturday, June 5:

Cold & rainy. Made cake before work. Cleaned the office. Listened to "Hit Parade." "Sept in Rain."

Here is the long entry for Saturday, June 5:

Cold, cloudy & rainy. Made carmel cake before I came to work. Vaummed (sic) the rugs & dusted. Wrote to Ruthie. Out home to dinner. Worked most all afternoon. Did shopping & went home. Got supper, did dishes, took down Hit Parade 'Sept in the rain was first. Leo to town & so was Dad went to bed early.

My comments: September in the Rain was first published in 1937; it has become a standard recorded by many artists, see:
