75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - June 2, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - June 2, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Wednesday, June 2:

Rained. Studied sh't hand. Leo & I in to town. B. Boots gave me 23 (cents) he owed me. Skated 15 min & Helen & I went down town. Home with Pete.

Here is the long entry for Wednesday, June 2:

Rained in the nite & some this morning. Did dishes & didn't get to work till 9:30. Did loss report. Home to dinner. Studied short hand awhile in pm. Edith here awhile. Did shopping & went home at 5:00. Got early supper, did dishes, & cleaned up. Leo & I to town. Helen & I to skating rink. Bud B. gave me the $.25 he owed me so I went skating for about 20 minutes. Then Helen & I down town. I went home with Pete. [3 full lines of short hand notes]

My comments: I am seeing a trend, that I like. Each Wednesday night she goes into town with someone. Usually goes skating a bit or longer. Pete shows up later in the evening, doesn't skate, but she goes home with him. Neat. I like that, as I said. An accommodation in the relationship!  ;-)
