75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - June 16, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - June 16, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Wednesday, June 16:

Rainy. Ironed. Helen J. & Edith over. Went skating. Was with B. Boots when Pete came in. Mad? Ate ice c. at pool with Helen & Elmer. Sat on sidewalk. Enjoyed being together.

Here is the long entry for Wednesday, June 16:

Up about 7:00. Got breakfast, did dishes & separator & straightened up the house. Rainy out all day. Leo didn't plow. Ironed in pm. Helen J. & Edith Lund here awhile. Got supper, did up milk chores, wore slacks skating. With B. Boots when Pete came in Was he angry! He & Elmer & Helen & I got ice cream & ate at swimming pool. Got mud all over wind shield. Pete & I finally talked things over. Said he like me too well. Spoiled, jealous. Keen time after we got home. [one full line of short hand] Sat on sidewalk till 2:00. Just naturally enjoyed being together.

My comments: Have quite a time don't they? Young love in bloom, for sure. Fun to watch.

"Talked things over…" always works, if they can just keep getting to there… Loved that last sentence!  ;-)
