75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - June 18, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - June 18, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Friday, June 18: [bold]

Ironed and took bath. Pete came at nite. Rained & we were stuck on Ollie Bett's road. Walked home barefooted. Pete home in Chevy.

Here is the long entry for Friday, June 18: [bold]

Cloudy & cool. I ironed all afternoon & washed a few things. Took a bath & waited for Pete. Finally went & met him the Chevy. Went up town. Saw Edith, Harold, Don & Jean. Started out on Ollie Betts road. It started to rain, so we tried to turn around. Got in ditch. What a time we had trying to get it out. Set in the car while it rained. Finally walked home. I was bare-footed. Pete went home in our Chevy. What a nite.

My comments: Well, what a fine kettle of fish! Young folks. Always getting in trouble, right? Sometimes hard to remember he was 22 and she was 18 years old.  ;-)

Where was Ollie Betts road? They'd been using it too much lately!  ;-)

Families are Forever!  ;-)
