75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - June 17, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - June 17, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Thursday, June 17:

In to town in am. Nearly ran in to Thurlow Jewell. Folks in Nebraska. Washed in pm. Leo took a shower. Wrote letters. Really sleepy.

Here is the long entry for Thursday, June 17:

Keen day. Up at 7:30. Got breakfast, did dishes, straightened up the house, & went to town just before Noon for groceries & ice. Nearly wrecked coming home by Grace Carpenters. Card from folks in Nebraska. Washed after dinner till 5:30. Really tired. Ate early. Late with the milking. Leo took a shower & I wrote letters. Really sleepy.

My comments: Well, some updates and corrections to my assumptions, I see. It appears the Buzz went with Paul and Dorothy, and they went to Nebraska, not Illinois, for Paul's vacation this year. Leo and Eileen at home. Eileen apparently done at Brownings. Wonder if the painting and wall paper was to sell the office? or she just not working there? or he on vacation as well? Time will tell, I suppose!  ;-)
