75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 4, 1937
This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.
Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.
[August 1, 1937, at Ledges]
Here is the short entry for Wednesday, August 4:
Ironed at nite. Pete came & we went in to town. Saw Clarabelle. She didn't know we went together. Did shopping, got pt.of i. cream & went riding.
Here is the long entry for Wednesday, August 4:
Usual work. Ironed from 6 to 8:00. Took shower, got cleaned up. Pete came & we went in to town. Saw Clarabelle. She didn't even know we went together. Did a little shopping, got pint of ice cream & went riding before coming home.
My comments: I assume this is the Clarabelle that married Frank Clayburg, but I cannot remember her maiden name. Will John or Ruth tell me first?
Here is a pint of Ice Cream, today… What did one look like in 1937?
Families are Forever! ;-)
