75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 3, 1937

75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 3, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.
[August 1, 1937, at Ledges]

Here is the short entry for Tuesday, August 3:

Real warm. I feel rested but Verna's still tired. Went to Bk Nite with the folks. "Love is News." Good. Smoozies. Home early.

Here is the long entry for Tuesday, August 3:

Real warm again. Feeling rested again. Poor Verna still tired. Went to Bk Nite with the Folks. "Love is News." Really good. Smoozies. Home early.

My comments: "Love is News" was a 1937 romantic film starring Tyrone Power, Loretta Young, and Don Ameche. This movie was the first film for which Tyrone Power had top billing. [The picture was remade in 1947 as "That Wonderful Urge", with Power again and Gene Tierney.]
