75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 12, 1937
This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.
Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.
[August 1, 1937, at Ledges]
Here is the short entry for Thursday, August 12:
Posted. Pete came, went to "Green Light." Just grand. Had swellest time afterwards. Got home as Mom was stirring dried corn.
Here is the long entry for Thursday, August 12:
Up early. Got breakfast. To work at 8:00. Cleaned the office & posted all day in the ledger. Got gum & ice cream & came home at 5:00. Helped with supper & dishes, got cleaned up. Pete had to wait on me again. My, my! Went to "Green Light." It's simply grand. Afterwards on Sherbring road. Really had a grand time. Pete's going to Cedar Falls Saturday. Back Sunday. Maybe going on Vacation with the boys. Got home early as Mom was stirring the dried corn. A grand evening! - - - - - - -
My comments: My, My! Indeed! How nice… ;-)
"Green Light" was a 1937 American film starring Errol Flynn.
