75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 22, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 22, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

[August 1, 1937, at Ledges]

Here is the short entry for Sunday, August 22:
We girls left for Spring Lake in our Ford at 1:00. Pretty good time. Back at 8:00. Went to "50 roads to town." Chased Morry & Tim. [Morrie Galloway and Helen Thomas I had written in, below]. Home at 11:00.

Here is the long entry for Sunday, August 22:

Up at 9:00. Did separator & cleaned the house. Leo wants to go to Wyoming. Getting picnic stuff ready. Cleaned up & left here at 1:00. Took buns & tomatoes. Edith L., Lenore, Helen J., Helen B & I took our Ford to Spring Lake. Skated and swam, took pictures all afternoon. Cooked wieners at community Kitchen. Telling jokes. Drove all over the Park. Back to Coon at 8:00. Cleaned up at Jensen's. Went to "50 roads to Town." Busted Balloons. Down to Park. Chased Morry G. & Tim Thomas. Home at 11:00.

My comments: "Fifty Roads to Town" starred Ann Southern. It was among the lowest ranked films of 1937… ;-)

Families are Forever!  ;-)
