75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 15, 1937
This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.
Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.
[August 1, 1937, at Ledges]
Here is the short entry for Sunday, August 15:
Alone for dinner. Men fixed fence. Got ice, made ice cream. Shower. Pete home at 7:30. Laid on yard waiting for Pete. Went to "Slim." Home at 12:00.
Here is the long entry for Sunday, August 15:
Up in good time. Washed my hair. Ironed a little bit. All alone for dinner. Listed to Thatcher Colt. Mex fixing fence. I wore shorts in to town & got ice. Made ice cream. Got linen dress ready to wear. Took a shower. Cleaned up. Called Pete's about 7:30. They just got back. Folks to Aunt Gers. [Gertrude Kinnick Brideson, near Bayard]. I laid on yard waiting for Pete. Went to "Slim." Home a little after 12:00. We're really getting good!
My comments: "Slim" was a 1937 movie starring Pat O'Brien and Henry Fonda.
Families are Forever! ;-)
Really getting good..at what??? ;-)
