75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 25, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 25, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

[August 1, 1937, at Ledges]

Here is the short entry for Wednesday, August 25:

Helen & I went to "Woke Up & Live." Catholic's Festival.

Here is the long entry for Wednesday, August 25:

Helen came after me at nite & we came in and saw "Wake Up and Live." It really was grand. Up to Old Settlers Picnic awhile. Cards from the boys.

My comments: Short and sweet!

"Wake Up and Live" was a 1937 Fox musical film directed by Sidney Lanfield and produced by Darryl F. Zanuck. The movie starred Walter Winchell (as himself), Ben Bernie and Alice Faye and was based upon the self-help bestseller by Dorothea Brande.
