75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 20, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - August 20, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

[August 1, 1937, at Ledges]

Here is the short entry for Friday, August 20:

Rained. Felt bad. Pete came. Out to Helen's. Made candy & sat on porch. Home early.

Here is the long entry for Friday, August 20:

Rained some more again. Did I feel rotten. [Scratched out a short sentence] Did the whole ironing, canned more corn. Felt O.K. by afternoon. Got supper, took a bath & got ready for Pete. He came about 8:30. Out to Helen's. Elmer there, of course. Made candy & sat out on porch, danced in the kitchen. Home at 12:15. Only took about 5 minutes. In house at 12:30.

My comments: More corn canned. Wonder what kind of candy they made? Fudge?
