75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
April 17, 1939
This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Here is the daily entry for Monday, April 17:
Pete didn't get up until 6:30. Rained & snowed all day. Late with chores. Ate early dinner, did dishes, went in town. Pete got new gray shoes. In town until 4:00. Sow had 12 pigs in straw stack. Pete had quite a time getting them in the barn. Didn't get chores finished until about 9:00.
Ate, took baths & went to bed.
My comments:
Chasing after 12 new born pigs… snow and rain. No fun.
Couldn't find a good image of more than 9 at a time... ;-)
Families are Forever! ;-)
