75 Years Ago Today - Eileen's Diary - April 12, 1939

75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
April 12, 1939

This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.

Here is the daily entry for Wednesday, April 12:

Up late again. Pete up home in morning and got 3 chicken coops. Ate dinner, did dishes, Pete disced (sic) in pm, after he got cobs scooped out of the brooder house.
I took cream & eggs in to town. Home at 5:00. Did my chores.
Pete & I put out the rat poison. Milked, ate supper late & went to bed.

My comments:

Good they did rat poison together, I would say.

"…he got cobs scooped out of the brooder house." That was an image I could relate to.
