75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
Feb 6, 1939
This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Now we are beginning 1939 - the year I was born, on July 1 - Bring it on! ;-)
Here is the daily entry for Monday, Feb 6:
Pete up at 6:00 and I got up before 8:00. Did the separator. Pete finished the chores and we were in town at 9:00. I did the washing. Had swiss steak for dinner. Did this weeks ironing. Bussy home. Had a cold. Ate supper. Pete got home from Carroll at 7:30. He ate at the folks & we came home. Got a bill of sale for $1200 from Pop. Glad that's all settled. Pete late with the chores. To bed about 11:00.
My comment: It now appears the meetings at the bank were about purchase of cattle, pigs, tools, etc. More on this tomorrow.
Swiss steak was always my favorite meal, that Mom made (really about even with chicken and noodles, perhaps!) growing up! ;-) ...enough for everyone reading this... ;-)
Families are Forever! ;-)
