75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
Feb 13, 1939
This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Now we are beginning 1939 - the year I was born, on July 1 - Bring it on! ;-)
Here is the daily entry for Monday, Feb 13:
Pete up at 6:00. I before 8:00. Did the separator and went in to wash at 9:00. Through at 11:00. Ironed before dinner.
Ate, set Mom's hair.
Sorted the clothes. Made pop corn balls. Pete came at 6:30. He couldn't get the car to start after he got it together. Ate potato soup. Pete read the paper and we went to bed early.
My comment: Sounds like Dad may have been a little frustrated with the car.
Pop corn ball, anyone?! They seemed to be popular this winter! ;-)
Families are Forever! ;-)
