75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
Feb 23, 1939
This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Here is the daily entry for Thursday, Feb 23:
Up in pretty good time. Did usual work. Pete went down and cut a little wood before dinner. Ate, did dishes while Pete hauled some wood up.
Went up after LVene but she was at Thomas' so Pete took me to Club at Gertrude Ford's. Had a nice time. Norma drove me up home. Pete was there. Home at 5:00. Ate, did dishes etc. while Pete milked. Pete washed his head. Read paper and looked at catalogs. To bed early.
My comment: Another Club meeting… at Gertrude Ford's this time. Small world! ;-)
The 1939 catalog had sheet music, including this one, that I know Mom had. Do you suppose she might have ordered it through the catalog??
Families are Forever! ;-)
