75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
Mar 1, 1939
This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Here is the daily entry for Wednesday, Mar 1: [bold]
Birthday note: Ruth Bolger [** My future mother-in-law, of course!! ;-)]
Up late. Did usual work.
Had chicken & noodles for dinner. Did dishes & cleaned the whole house. Outdoors watching Pete put on car fan & clock mirror. Ate & chores. Embroidered & listened to radio. Pete shaved & washed his head. Snow plow went by at 9:30. To bed at 10:00.
My comment: Curious about the car accessories… "clock mirror" ?? "car fan" -day after a blizzard??
What was she embroidering? A table cloth like this?
Families are Forever! ;-)
