75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
Mar 17, 1939
This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Here is the daily entry for Friday, Mar 17:
Date Circled!! ;-) [St. Patrick's Day - Mom and Dad's First Anniversary!!]
A whole year tonite. Woke up with a cold. Delbert bro't the seed corn. Usual work.
In town to Anniversary dinner. Singers here after dinner. Eunice stayed till 6:00.
Chored, ate, read the paper & went to bed early.
My comment: Pretty understated celebration, it appears.
Her parents had "Anniversary dinner" for them at noon. Neat! ;-)
Don't know which Eunice this might have been… one of the singers… ;-)
Seed corn delivery pretty important for the farm for the spring!!
Families are Forever! ;-)
