75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
Mar 16, 1939
This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Here is the daily entry for Thursday, Mar 16:
Cold out. Did usual morning work. Pete here in am & up home after dinner. Cleaned the house in afternoon.
Made a choc. cake. Chored, ate, did dishes. Edith called & wanted us to come over.
Chivariied Julia and Arnold. Candy and cigars. We girls played checkers & talked. Boys played cards. Home at 11:30.
My comment: They obviously got married… "Candy and cigars" - sign of the times, I suppose… ;-(
I'll focus on the Chocolate Cake! ;-)
Families are Forever! ;-)
