75 Years Ago Today - Eileen's Diary - Mar 26, 1939

75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
Mar 26, 1939

This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.

Here is the daily entry for Sunday, Mar 26:

Up in good time. To church at 9:30. Wayne Cooley preached. 31 there. 15 in our S.S. class.
Home to dinner. Folks here. They went down to Rasmuses in p.m. Pete and I read several magazine stories. Chored, late, made a cream pie, to bed early.

My comment: Good day. Interesting information.

This is Star Church, a few miles north of where they lived. They continued going there for many years. I was just a mile north of Pete's family's farm, of course.

An addition was added, later, but this is how it would have looked, at this time.

Families are Forever!  ;-)

  1. Oh yes, they continued until it closed to merge with "the Town Church", huh! And that name, "Wayne Cooley", will certainly be familiar to many, many Iowans! Of course, the "famous one" is "E. Wayne"...
