75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - July 15, 1937

75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - July 15, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Thursday, July 15:

Slept late. Erna & Helen J. here. Leo & Buss swimming. Mom & I weeded beets & picked peas. Listened to radio, shower, bed.

Here is the long entry for Thursday, July 15:

Lazy me this morning. Slept 'till nearly 9:00. Just got sep. & dishes & dinner before Noon. Did dinner dishes, patched my clothes & wrote in diaries. Erna & Helen J. here about 6:00. Got supper, did dishes. Leo & Bussy swimming. Mom & I down weeding the beets & picking peas. Listened to bob Burns, took a shower, & went to bed early.

My comments: First mention of peas in the garden.

I've picked a lot of these! Eaten quite a few, as well, I suppose. Yum!  ;-)
