75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - July 3, 1937

75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - July 3, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Saturday, July 3:

Sleepy but got lots of work done. Beat front room rug & cleaned all downstairs. Cleaned chicken at nite. Listened to Hit Parade.

Here is the long entry for Saturday, July 3:

Really sleepy. But did we ever get the work done. I beat the front room rug, & we cleaned the whole downstairs. At nite I cleaned a chicken. Leo went to town. Listened to the Hit Parade.

My comments: Still got up early. Still cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. I'm tired just thinking about the regime of work that they seemed so 'attached to.'

Cuts from a plucked chicken - ready to fry!
