75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - March 19, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - March 19, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

For 1937, for most days, there is both a short entry in a multi-year diary and a longer entry in a an appointment book like her diaries of past years. There is some indication the short entries were made later based on the longer entries. We still do not really know for sure.

WELL, now we know. March 8 was the last entry in the 'longer' appointment book, like in prior years. March 9 begins only entries in the shorter, 5 year diary format. How long will this last???

Here is the entry for Friday, March 19:

Now its cold today. Wrote letters. Home alone to dinner. Snowed all pm. Ate & went skating with Erna. Pete there. Leo came for me at 11:00. Mad at Yippy M. [Added later: Dick Miller - Las Vegas] Pete says the way he stops is to bump into something. [Added later: Pete not very good at skating]

My comments: Cute comments. Interesting she went with Erna, not her sister Edith, as usual.

Dick Miller lived in Las Vegas, later - when she added the note. They did remain friends, over the years, regardless of what he did to make her mad at him while skating!  ;-)

Hard up for a photo for this post - Las Vegas has to be the default!  ;-)

Families are Forever!  ;-)
