Here is the long entry for Friday, March 12:
Slept good & didn't get up 'till 8:00. Am I ever getting lazy! Bro't in Ford. Drew picture of "Life is What You Make of It." Dad here looking over Smith papers. Read most of morning. Bussy & I home early to dinner. He was mad because the girls were calling him tattle-tale. [She had underlined this sentence, later] Lenore & H. Johnson rode down to school & town with me. Letter from Charley C.V. Wrote several letters. Mrs. Taylor [underlined; arrow: Mrs. Browning's mother?] came down & I set her hair. Took her home & Lenore & Priscilla. Talked to Ida & Marian G. Getting cloudy. I took V-8 home & then we kids bro't in a car for Dad. Ate & then & came in to skate. More fun! With Edith & Lenore. Buddy Boots rushing me all nite. [Sentence underlined, later] Wants date sometime. Really a swell skater. Hadn't shaved! Home about 11:30. Really crowd . Dedham kids were there.
My comments: "Tell him you are Pete's girl," for heaven's sake… me screaming at her! ;-)
