 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - March 12, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

[See March 26 note below]

Here is the entry for Friday, March 12: [bold]

Up late. Took in Ford. Dad in office about Smith matter. Took Prissy [added later: Priscilla Rogers] & Lenore home. Ate supper then came in to skate. With Edith & Lenore. Bud Boats [added later: He was tall, dark & handsome & such a good skater.}rushing me all evening. Wants date sometime. Hadn't shaved. Really a crowd. Dedham's kids here.

Inserted after March 26:

Here is the long entry for Friday, March 12:

Slept good & didn't get up 'till 8:00. Am I ever getting lazy! Bro't in Ford. Drew picture of "Life is What You Make of It." Dad here looking over Smith papers. Read most of morning. Bussy & I home early to dinner. He was mad because the girls were calling him tattle-tale. [She had underlined this sentence, later] Lenore & H. Johnson rode down to school & town with me. Letter from Charley C.V. Wrote several letters. Mrs. Taylor [underlined; arrow: Mrs. Browning's mother?] came down & I set her hair. Took her home & Lenore & Priscilla. Talked to Ida & Marian G. Getting cloudy. I took V-8 home & then we kids bro't in a car for Dad. Ate & then & came in to skate. More fun! With Edith & Lenore. Buddy Boots rushing me all nite. [Sentence underlined, later] Wants date sometime. Really a swell skater. Hadn't shaved! Home about 11:30. Really crowd . Dedham kids were there.

My comments: "Tell him you are Pete's girl," for heaven's sake… me screaming at her!  ;-)
