75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - March 10, 1937

 75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - March 10, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

For 1937, for most days, there is both a short entry in a multi-year diary and a longer entry in a an appointment book like her diaries of past years. There is some indication the short entries were made later based on the longer entries. We still do not really know for sure.

WELL, now we know. March 8 was the last entry in the 'longer' appointment book, like in prior years. March 9 begins only entries in the shorter, 5 year diary format. How long will this last???
[See March 26 note below]

Here is the entry for Wednesday, March 10:

Sunny but cold. At office [later added with arrow here: Law Office] again. Typed most of the day. Manicure set from Sandy. [later added with arrow to Sandy: He was a navy boy I wrote to - a friend of Fritz Morman & he sent me so many nice gifts.] Stopped at Lunds awhile. Washed out socks, did separator, sewed a little, to bed early. "This Years Kisses" 1st.

Inserted after March 26:

Here is the entry for Wednesday, March 10:

Quite nice out. Sunny but cold. Bussy & I bro't in the V-8. Seemed good to be in a good office again. Typed Comments on an Abstract & some other things. Quite busy most of day. Bussy & I home to dinner. Sandy sent me the keenest Man i Cure Set because I crossed my fingers the day he took his test. Silly him! Listed to boys quartet at Rex's. Julia here awhile. Finished letter & went home at 6:00. Stopped in at Lund's. Washed socks, ate & did separator & fixed zipper on black skirt. To bed about 9:30. "This Year's Kisses" was 1st on Parade.

My comments: She fell right back in to last week's routine  - apparently with now effort or ill effects.

New song was 1st on the Hit Parade!
