75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
August 6, 1939
This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK SMITH, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Here is the daily entry for Sunday, August 6:
Up late. Cloudy & cool all day.
Fixed a chicken for dinner. Just finished eating when the folks came.
Pete, Dad & Buss went fishing over by Lunds'. I scrubbed kitchen floor & swept dining room. Had pancakes for supper. Pete & I went to "East Side of Heaven" & the folks kept Billy in town. With Arnold, Julia, Ed, Elmer afterwards.
My comments:
An evening out - Billy with grandpa and grandma - two nights in a row. ;-)
Bing Crosby movie...
Families are Forever! ;-)
