75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
August 24, 1939
This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK SMITH, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.
Here is the daily entry for Thursday, August 24:
Up late. Did separator. Took washing in town for Mom to do. Got groceries. Made p. salad & got ready to go to Swan Lake to Club Picnic. Had a keen dinner. Played kitten ball. The ladies watched Billy. Home at 6:00. Really tired. Chored early, read papers, fixed pickles & went to bed.
My comments:
Tried a search on Kitten Ball… "A search on the phrase Kitten Ball, a variation of baseball designed for city life, …"
Anyone heard of Kitten Ball??
Here is a kitten, in the meantime! ;-)
