75 Years Ago Today - Eileen's Diary - August 23, 1939

75 Years Ago Today
Eileen's Diary
August 23, 1939

This entry is a post from the diary of my mother, twenty year old Eileen KINNICK SMITH, 75 Years Ago this date. She kept a diary from 1932 as a freshman in high school until she left us, too early, in 1999.

Here is the daily entry for Wednesday, August 23:

Didn't get up to stay until 8:30. Ate, did separator, bathed & fed Billy. Rasmus, Karl, Howard came to have Pete fix their coupe. They stayed for dinner. Fed Billy & then did dishes & read paper & slept till 5:30. Pete scything weeds along corn field. Fed Billy, chores, ate supper. Read paper & went to bed.

My comments:

Billy well fed, today. Nice! Dad was good at fixing machines… cars, tractors, tongues… ;-)

Suppose their "coupe" looked like this??
