Here is the daily entry for Friday, April 8:

Up late. Still awfully cold. Just did the usual work. Pete got a saw from Uncle Harry's but it wasn't much good. Sat of the floor & talked 'till 6:00. Ate, did dishes & separator, took our baths & went to bed early.

My comments: Obviously still snowy out, and cold.
