75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - July 18, 1938
This entry is an irregular post on this blog from the diary of nineteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date. Let's look at a few days in July...
From March 1 thru April 29, I posted every day, to cover the marriage and the early married life of Pete and Eileen (Kinnick) Smith, but decided to 'take a breather.' Posts will be added, from time to time, as items of particular interest appear.
Here is the daily entry for Monday, Jul 18:
Started threshing here after dinner. Went to town at nite & got groceries. Made 3 big white cakes for tomorrow. Scrubbed and waxed kitchen floor.
My comments: U. S. Department of Agriculture, Weather Bureau, for Carroll, Iowa reported the following temperatures"
July 18 - 95 high, 58 low
July 19 - 92 high, 63 low
July 20 - 87 high, 57 low
