FamilyTreeDNA Surname Project

FamilyTreeDNA Surname Project

I have initiated the process of creating a Kinnick Surname Project with the Family Tree DNA testing facility - this group tests more people than any other.

I have the first Kinnick volunteer, from the 'John and Mary' - MD>OH>IL>IA group.

I now need to identify a Kinnick male from the 'John and Ann' - MD>NC>IN group.

Please leave a comment, or send me an email, if you are a direct male descendant with a surname: KINNICK from that second group. Thank you!

  2. Thank you for the comment, Rhonda. Yes, there are a LOT of Kinnicks and Kinnick descendants in Indiana! Happy to answer any questions about the family, if you have any. Wish we had more KINNICK followers. What would you like to see here, to bring more in? Thanks, again. Bill ;-)

  3. Has it been narrowed down yet as to what part of Holland the Kinnicks hailed from? Is there an approximate time they arrived in America?

  4. Actually, the 'Holland' origin was pure speculation with no grounding in fact. They almost certainly came from England or Wales. That is where the KINNNICK name is common. The 'Holland' came from a comment in the 1953 Kinnick book. Do you know of any other source? I certainly do not, but always open to new information!! ;-) Thanks for asking; good question, wish I had a better answer. ;-)

  5. We now have one male of the Ohio line in the DNA Project. I need one male of the NC-Indiana branch to participate. There is a sale going on, right now. Hope to hear from someone. Send me an email at: billsmith2003 at gmail.com, if you can. THANKS! ;-)
